The largest of the week was a 12lb. 4oz. rainbow landed by James Piccirilli, pictured above of San Marcos. He coaxed this beauty in on a white power worm/green power bait combo from Trout Cove. Rudy Garcia, Photo # 1 of Escondido landed an 11lb. 7oz. lunker on 4oz. test from Jack Creek Cove using a white jig/orange power bait combo, and Ashley Russell of San Marcos took an 8lb. 4oz. rainbow on a Kastmaster lure from Bass Cove.
Best baits have been night crawlers, power worms, power baits. The best lures have been mini-jigs, Kastmasters, Rooster Tails and Thomas Buoyants The best results have come from using light line in the 2-4 lb. test range in the clear waters of Dixon Lake, and using a variety of baits until the right combo is found.
With the cooler water conditions the trout are in close to shore. The hot spots are the Jack Creek and Trout cove areas with the Buoy line and Whisker Bay coming in a close second.
The next stock will be on Dec. 5th with 1500 pounds of Nebraska Tail Walkers.
