Trout The buoy line and up through Paradise cove continues to shine as the go-to area for the Rainbows. Of course Geezer cove was still a hot spot along with areas around Cabin cove. And just trolling trough the deeper middle near the buoy line was providing results. Green-sparkle Powerbait, Garlic Powerbait, Nightcrawlers, Rapalas-regular and small, Kastmasters were your best bet.

Bass Bass in numbers and size have improved large this week. Thomas Bossard, Jacumba, caught and released several large-mouths with the largest weighing in at 9lbs 4ozs. using plastic lures. Brain Fansher, Campo, was here several times this week bringing up and letting go 37lbs worth in one day in various locals and C&R a 10lb 2oz. beauty with Senko. Jon Knoebel, Campo, had a nice time fooling a 4lb 5oz bass.

Catfish The cats are on the prowl. Cabin cove has really been a fine spot for a most of our species, especially cats. Verbal reports came in about some Blue cats and Channel cats being wrangled from the warmer waters of Cabin cove.

Blue Gill No Pan fish were reported this week.

Crappie The crappie are the bomb! They're moving about the lake starting in Cabin cove and spreading out to Geezer cove continuing south to the launch ramp rip-rap. As those numbers dwindled on those coves they reappeared at Paradise cove. Jim Hill neared the 25 limit of pan fish in Paradise cove. Other anglers were seen but not heard from as they hauled baskets full of these delicious morsels, some weighing over a pound each.

Carp These fish are being caught on a more regular basis while anglers are looking for meatier fair. Patrick Mattson hauled in a 9 lber in the cabin cove with worms.
