Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: Mt?? Lassen stocked 2,000 lbs last week!! The cold weather has water?? temps below 60 deg. Putting the trout in a very aggressive feeding frenzy. These combinations made for some great results in the "Fishing In the Pines" Kids Derby held on Saturday. Rain and cold weather kept some anglers away, still over 300 kids registered, and 101 weighing in fish. Was a great success!!! Lunch was served to an estimated 800, followed by a raffle in which all kids present received a raffle prize. The adult raffle was enjoyed by all. THANK YOU to all the SPONSORS, and?? VOLUNTEERS who make this possible.??

Fly Fishing:?? With the cooling water temps Matukas and Wooly Buggers would be a good choice?? This should produce something besides Crappie, which will take just about anything.????
Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell October 6, 2007 at 1 P.M. .The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.
Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM:?? Ranger Willard will teach tried and true trout tactics, also cover Crappie and Catfish using tube jigs and bait.
Prognosis:!! ??With the heavy stocking, cooling water temps, the trout action will continue producing limit style action. Trolling and bait dunking?? providing anglers with good trout action. This is the start of the Fall trout action. Water temp 57-59deg.Catfish and Crappie are still adding weight to the stringers. Please fell free to ask our staff any questions you may have.
