Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: A much needed rain seems to have invigorated the trout with a refreshed appetite. ALPERS TROUT with the famous "BAD ATTITUDE"?? you expect from these Eastern Sierra??are taking inflated night crawlers. Anglers are catching limits of mixed sized trout. Bait produced more?? limits than hardware. Five Tagged trout good for a "Day on the Lake" gift certificate are waiting for you.

Trout Bait:12-20 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait,??and Power Worms.?? (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)????

Best Trout Lures: Gold Panther Martins, Black and Brown Rooster Tails, Rapala (orange/ fire tiger)?? Use scent!???????? (Krill gel works best)??

Best Trout Spots: Lone Pine, Shore line Chambers Park, Dike, Finger Jetty's

Notable:?? Bill Guffey, Santee, 3lbs 12oz Alpers, night crawler, Chambers Park. Michel(age9), Thomas(age8), Alex(age6) Uppenkamp, San Diego, (9 trout total) largest 2lbs, inflated night crawler (Lots of 2hour limits)

Fly Fishing: ?? With the addition of the German Browns,?? Matukas and Wooly Buggers will be a good choice.

Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell January 6, at 1 P.M. .The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.

Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM:?? Ranger Willard will teach tried and true trout tactics.

Prognosis:!! The bite should continue strong with bait. Inflated Night Crawlers with scent; Dough Baits with scent; and Salmon eggs. Trolling the North Shoreline and Dike with Roster Tails and Rapala's should provide some action. Drifting trout teasers with scent should be irresistible.
