Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca: We STOCKED?? a load of Mojave?? D.F.G. finest rainbows last week. This added to the inventory has the lake full of trout. With the cold front and snow this weekend the bite has slowed. Trout??are taking inflated night crawlers. Patient anglers are catching limits of mixed sized trout. Bait produced more?? limits than hardware. Five Tagged trout good for a "Day on the Lake" gift certificate are waiting for you.

Trout Bait: 12-20 inch leader off the bottom inflated night crawler smeared with scent, Power Bait,??and Power Worms.?? (Pautzkes Krill gel or liquid Krill scent)??????
Best Trout Lures: Gold Panther Martins, Rapala (orange or fire tiger). Use scent (Krill gel works best)??
Best Trout Spots: Lone Pine, Shore line Chambers Park, Dike, Finger Jetty's
Notable:??Bill Guffy, Santee, 3lbs 4oz Rainbow, power worm, Chambers Park. Steve Tillison, San Diego, 2lbs 8 oz Alpers, power bait, Launch Ramp. Mike K, San Diego, 1lbs 8oz Rainbow, inflated night crawler, Lone Pine. (Some of 2 hour limits)
Fly Fishing: ?? With the addition of the German Browns,?? Matukas and Wooly Buggers will be a good choice. Worked very slow being taken on the fall.??
Nature Walk: The guided walk will be conducted by Clint Powell January 6, at 1 P.M. .The trail is open for daily use. 3 1/2 miles around the lake.
Free Fishing Class Saturday at 10:AM:?? Ranger Willard will teach tried and true trout tactics.
Prognosis:!! With warming weather, the bite should continue with bait. Inflated Night Crawlers with scent; Dough Baits with scent; and Salmon eggs. Drifting pink trout teasers with scent should be irresistible. The?? Alpers trout are known for there fighting ability?? and wonderful taste. Enjoy this opportunity while it lasts. Waterfowl??hunters enjoyed cold morning on Sunday with snow and overcast,?? rewarded with (1)Canvasback (2) Mallard (1) Ring Neck (1) Bluebill
