Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca. The wildflowers are coming out about now and the wildlife viewing is fantastic. The deer are munching in the new green grass right along the highway and Tom turkeys are strutten their stuff. Good for a few laughs.

WE ARE NOW OPEN EVERY DAY AT 6 AM. CLOSING TIME VARIES ACCORDING TO SUNSET.


Best Bait: Power Bait, any color. nightcrawlers dipped in scent.

Best Spots: Lone Pine, Chambers Park, and most of the lake.

Best Lures: Orange Rapala, Rooster Tail, (Yellow) dipped in scent.

Notable: Suzanne Bates of El Cajon took a limit of Rainbows, largest was 4 1/2 pounds. The Dike was the lucky spot for Suzanne. Christopher Hudnall and two friends, Alpine got 3 limits of trout (15 total) Largest was 4 1/2 pounds, using a Cuyamaca Sandwich at the North Finger Jetty. Ian Coley of Santa Ysabel got a limit in 2 1/2 hours including a 2 1/2 pounder on inflated Nitcrawler with corn scent.

The week of April 6 , Jess Ranch will be stocking the lake again with primo Rainbow Trout. Fishing should continue to be excellant.

Greeting from Lake Cuyamaca. The Spring weather is still here and we are enjoying all the sights and sounds. The Bald Eagles are giving their daily performance.
