  • Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,000 pounds last week. The next stocking will be the week of August 15th. The lake has been stocked with 3,750 pounds of catfish so far this season. The catfish stocking schedule can be viewed HERE.
  • What's the catch? The catfish bite is great this time of year—especially if you’re night fishing! Many fishermen are happy with their stringer at the end of the night. The cats are hitting on mackerel as well as shrimp and nightcrawlers. Bass are being reeled in from shore and by boat. Find a spot with some tree cover and structure to cast in to. Drop shot and Senkos are tried and true. Meal worms are reeling in Bluegill from the back of Half Moon Cove. Try using a spinner bait lure! Don't forget to send us pics of your catch! You can tag us @lakejennings on social media or email them to ranger@lakejennings.org.
  • Conditions: The district is done drawing water from the lake. There is lots of shoreline to fish! The surface temperature around is 80.1 degrees. The sun is rising around 5:45 a.m. and setting about 8:00 p.m. For a complete weather report in Lakeside, click HERE.
  • Firepit Rentals: Can't commit to an entire weekend of camping? Rent one of our lakefront firepits on Saturday night, August 13th! Grab your friends, family, favorite peeps and gather around one of our firepits from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tell stories, roast s'mores, play games...slow down and enjoy the sunset. You can rent a firepit by calling (619) 390-1623 or reserve ONLINE
  • Labor Day: The lake will be open on Monday, September 5th, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Join us as summer begins to wind down for fishing, boating, hiking, picnicking, and more!
  • Best of 2022! We are one of the 5 finalists in TWO categories for Best of San Diego - Best Places to Camp and Best Places to Rent a Boat! You can vote for us in one or both categories through September 7th. Click on the buttons that follow to cast your vote. You'll be asked to register or sign in through Gmail and then the page will redirect to cast your vote.
  • LONG TERM CAMPING: The campground opens for long term reservations in September. It's never too early to book a campsite for 30 nights or more! If you would like more information about long term camping visit our website HERE.
  • Have you seen our updated horseshoe pits at the campground? The pits have been leveled and there's a new scoreboard! The area also includes a shaded picnic area with a barbeque. Horseshoe rentals are available at the campground kiosk.
